We stopped by Black Rock Coffee on a Saturday around midday and ordered two very different (but equally satisfying) drinks: a Mai Tai Fuel and their Steel Bridge dark roast house drip. The drip was robust, bold, and comforting, while the Mai Tai Fuel leaned unapologetically fun: sweet and tropical, built with red raspberry, lime, and mango, topped with orange juice, and served iced or frozen.
Food-wise, they were out of the Tacodeli tacos when we arrived, but we snagged the Bacon, Cheddar & Monterey egg bites (fluffy, savory, and honestly the sleeper hit of the visit) plus a chocolate croissant from Easy Tiger—flaky layers with just the right amount of chocolate. Black Rock’s menu has plenty beyond coffee, too: they’re known for a wide selection of very sweet “Fuel” energy drinks and other options across their menu categories, plus “Breakfast Anytime” items (availability varies by location).
The space itself feels modern, clean, and a little hipster, with decent indoor seating and a few spots outside—perfect for a quick stop or a casual hang. Fast, friendly service keeps everything moving, even when it’s busy. Overall, it’s the kind of place that makes a midday coffee run feel like a small treat.
