We stopped by Doxa Coffee Roasters on a Sunday morning at their Monterrey Oaks location (they have two locations in Austin), and the vibe was instantly calm and welcoming. There was just one barista running the show, and she moved at an unhurried pace—no rushing, just thoughtfully crafted drinks for everyone in line. The space is gorgeous too: lots of greenery, striking Moorish-style archways, and a charming spot near the church, with a few cozy seats if you want to stay a while.

We went with two pour-overs—a Brazil (light roast) and a decaf Colombia (medium roast). Both were smooth and full of flavor, but the Brazil was the clear standout: brighter, more layered, and the kind of cup you end up savoring sip by sip. You can also grab bags of their coffee to take home, which is always a nice bonus after a great cup. They also had a small selection of baked goodies, including a few gluten-free options.

According to their website, Doxa (pronounced “dock-sa”) is all about turning great coffee into a feel-good experience. The name comes from a Greek word meaning “glory” or “excellence,” and that intention shows up in how they roast, which is small-batch coffees crafted to let each origin shine, using their state-of-the-art Bellwether electric roaster. Because it’s a closed, ventless system, they can roast clean, fresh coffee right in the community with a smaller environmental footprint—no smoke or emissions—while keeping quality consistent and dialed in. They make specialty coffee feel approachable, creating a space where you feel genuinely cared for from the moment you walk in.
