We visited Radix House Coffee on a recent stop and found it operating as a food truck with outdoor seating available for guests. On the day we visited, both the espresso and drip coffee were made using local Third Coast “El Guapo” beans.

The espresso at Radix House
The espresso was bold and intense, leaning toward the darker and more bitter end of the spectrum—definitely a strong, dark-roast style. It was also served in a full-size to-go cup, which felt a little unexpected for an espresso, but it made for an easy grab-and-go experience. The drip coffee was similarly dark, though slightly more approachable and easier to sip.

While specialty drinks like the honey lavender sounded tempting, we usually order a standard drip when reviewing since it gives a consistent baseline for comparison from shop to shop.
The mission behind it
Beyond the coffee itself, Radix House really stands out for its mission. According to their website, the business is committed to raising awareness around PTSD, sharing suicide prevention resources, and supporting local animal rescue organizations. That mission-driven focus adds a meaningful layer to the overall experience and speaks to what Radix House represents in the community.

If you’re looking to support a business rooted in advocacy and community impact, Radix House is worth a stop—especially if you prefer a darker roast (and I’d be curious to try one of their specialty drinks next time).

What’s changed since our visit
Still at 2701 West William Cannon Drive, 7am–4pm Monday to Thursday and 7am–7pm Friday to Sunday.
- They have changed beans. The Third Coast El Guapo we drank is gone; the house coffee now is their own organic medium-to-light blend.
- The honey lavender is still on, spelled their way — the Hunny Lovender Latte. So the “next time” at the end of this review still stands.
- There’s no public phone number — email only.
- One thing we did not mention at the time: they also sell hemp-derived products.
