Rise Coffee & Bakery is a cozy South Austin coffee shop near William Cannon with cupcakes, flights, and locally roasted beans.
It is a cute little spot for coffee, fun, 30+ rotating flavors for cupcakes, and has lots of “treat yourself” energy. They bake their cupcakes in-house, and if you’re feeling festive, they even do mimosa and cupcake flights (yes please).
We kept it simple with one small regular drip and one small decaf. They use Barrett’s beans from Austin, and the coffee was super fruity—bright and flavorful in the best way.
Of course we couldn’t leave without cupcakes (GF available as well). We sampled a few mini chocolate ones and loved the frosting (truly the star). Bonus points: we peeked at the ingredient list and it was refreshingly simple, which made everything feel even more wholesome and homemade. They also have pick up and delivery available.
Parking was easy (strip mall lot), there’s plenty of indoor seating, and it wasn’t crowded at all when we went on the weekend — plus the service was genuinely friendly.
Is it worth a visit?
Yes — especially on a weekend when I want something low-stress. Rise is a sweet spot (literally) that feels like a small reset: good coffee, friendly people, and dessert that makes you feel like you’re doing something nice for yourself.
