We stopped by Whipped Bakery on a weekday afternoon, and the first thing that stood out was how beautiful and elegantly decorated the space is inside. This visit was to their Anderson Mill Rd location (they also have a Leander shop), and even mid-afternoon the bakery was buzzing with activity.

whipper bakery & cafe desserts

With so many tempting desserts on display, choosing just a few was tough! We ended up sampling the chocolate strawberry cupcake, pistachio fatcaron (yes — a fat macaron!), Whipped deluxe chocolate chip cookie, and the white chocolate lemon pound cake. Everything had mild, balanced flavors and tasted great, but our clear favorite was the pistachio fatcaron—it was bursting with flavor and had the perfect texture. We wanted to try the canele and the Basque cheesecake, but they were out. Whipped Bakery also specializes in custom cakes, so they’re definitely worth keeping in mind for your next special occasion.

For drinks, we ordered a Stash peppermint tea and an Americano, both of which paired nicely with the desserts. One small surprise was that everything was served on plastic plates and paper mugs—likely due to limited dishwashing facilities—but it didn’t take away from the overall experience.

Despite visiting on a Thursday around 2pm, the place was pretty packed, which says a lot about how popular they are. Parking was easy thanks to a large lot outside, making this a convenient stop. If you’re craving beautifully crafted desserts in a charming setting, Whipped Bakery is absolutely worth a visit.

Final verdict: Whipped Bakery is absolutely worth a visit—especially if you love beautifully crafted desserts in a charming, elegant space. Even on a weekday afternoon it was buzzing, the treats were balanced and delicious, and the pistachio fatcaron was the clear standout. Add in easy parking and great coffee/tea pairings, and it’s the kind of place you’ll want to keep in mind for both casual treats and special occasions.

What we checked before republishing this review

Everything above is from our own visit and has been left exactly as it was written. A bakery review goes out of date in ways a visit cannot fix, though, so the details in it were checked against Whipped Bakery & Cafe’s own website and its ordering storefront on 12 August 2026. Here is what held up and what did not.

  • The Anderson Mill shop is still open — but you would not know it from the website. Every page of whippedatx.com we opened, including its contact and FAQ pages, shows only the Leander address, “15609 Ronald Reagan Blvd, B220 Leander, TX 78641”. The ordering storefront tells a different story: it opens set to “Pickup from 10700 Anderson Mill Rd Ste 109”, and its store picker lists both “10700 Anderson Mill Rd Ste 109, Austin, TX 78750-2401” and “15609 Ronald W Reagan Blvd Bldg B220, Leander, TX 78641-1479”. So the Austin location in the table above is live and taking orders, and the second shop in Leander mentioned in the review is confirmed too.
  • The phone number above we could not confirm. The only number Whipped publishes on its site is (512) 986-7988, printed against the Leander address; the ordering storefront gives no number at all. We did not find (512) 919-4011 on the home, about, menu, FAQ, contact, custom cakes, other desserts, cupcakes, fatcaron, standard cake or cake roll pages. It may simply be the Austin shop’s line, unpublished; we have left it in place rather than delete a number a visitor used.
  • The two things we were told they were out of are both real menu items. Whipped’s other desserts page lists “Vanilla Canele” and “Matcha Canele” (and a plain “Canele”) alongside a “Basque Cheesecake”, which it describes as “Crustless rich and creamy cheese cake. It has scorched surface that adds that unique and unmistakable aroma to its complexity, which recalls notes of salted caramel or browned butter.” Being out of them on a Thursday afternoon is a stock problem, not a discontinued line. Same page also carries the “Whipped Deluxe Cookie” by that exact name.
  • Fatcarons are a real category; the pistachio is not on the current list. The flavours Whipped lists today are Biscoff, Chocolate, Creme Brûlée, Green Tea Creme, Honey Lavender, Lime, Mint Chocolate, Oreo, Salted Caramel, Strawberry, Whipped Signature and Seashell. Pistachio is not among them, so it is presumably a rotating flavour rather than a fixture — which is bad news, because it was the best thing we ate. We have left the note as recorded.
  • The coffee and tea are on the menu, and so are the custom cakes. The ordering storefront’s drinks list includes an Americano at $3.50–$5.75, plus espresso, drip coffee, cortado, cappuccino, latte, mocha, cold brew and tea, which supports the pairing described above. Custom cakes have their own page and their own storefront entry, so the suggestion about special occasions still stands.
  • Hours, for planning a visit. Whipped publishes “Monday – Saturday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM” on its site. That is printed against the Leander address, so confirm the Austin shop’s hours in the ordering storefront before making the drive.

An Americano was a sensible order against four sweet things: diluting espresso keeps the body low and the bitterness in check, which is roughly the opposite of what a milk drink does to a dessert. What is a long black explains how an Americano is built and how it differs from its Antipodean cousin, and coffee and food pairing covers matching a cup to a very sweet plate.
